A saleswoman and a guitar

She walks lazily with purple streaked hair and smoky eyes like an unheard note on the fret of a lonely guitar, whose rusted strings rebel against the outward bow of the neck of the guitar. The note vibes in disagreement and gives rise to cacophonous shriek. The atrocious resonance plays trick on her mind and magnifies her failure with sales-pitch to her client. She drags her feet , like fat callous fingers drag on the rusted strings of the guitar , only to enhance her disharmony with her environment. A silent sadness seeps into her and echoes in the emptiness inside her…………just like strumming vibrates in a hollow acoustic guitar.

Another day, another time – she resolves to fine tune the strings of her life and face another day.

  1. Wonderful, just wonderful! “…like an unheard note on the fret of a lonely guitar…”, is a beauty. Loved the ending – “…fine tune the strings of her life…” – and the the guitar metaphor. Play on, buddy…life’s a long song!
