Having got a pink slip from his stressful job of 10 years and divorced from his newly married bride who he had been seeing for almost 10 years before they tied the knot, he was shattered, devastated and felt purposeless for the first time in his life.
He extinguished the fire in the fire-place and took last look at his dream house which sucked his 10 years of blood, sweat and tears. Hefty alimony engulfed his dream house, savings, investments and his dream car; what was left for him was an old yacht and log-cabin in country side by the beach inherited from his parents.
Knowing his past ten years were devoid of him taking any vacation or pursuing his dreams or making friends or cherishing small things in life, he filled a sack with all the books he wanted to read since his teen-years and a fishing rod. All his life he had worked towards bringing stability, equilibrium and predictability in his life; but now as he boarded his yacht and steered it through the canal towards his log-cabin for an unknown vacation for unknown time, his fears of unknown were his only source of pleasure.
